The Black Crowes, Happiness Bastards Tour, April 28
The Black Crowes are back, and even though life is twice as hard as it was back in the ’90s, the brothers Robinson are sounding pretty reinvigorated. Just take a listen to lethal new single “Wanting And Waiting,” which sounds like classic Crowes at their bluesy, ballsy best. In March, they release Happiness Bastards, the Georgia band’s 10th studio album and first of original music in 15 years. A tour named for the album takes flight right after, hitting Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway on April 28. “Happiness Bastards is our love letter to rock n’ roll,” says Chris Robinson. “Rich and I are always writing and creating music; that has never stopped for us, and it is always where we find harmony together. This record represents that.” Adds Rich Robinson: “This album is a continuation of our story as a band. Our years of experience writing and making music and touring the world are represented in this record… I am incredibly proud of what we put together.” Tickets go on sale Friday (January 26) at 10 a.m. local time.
