Jiles’ bars glimmer in the shadows for his ‘Half On a Plate’ video

Screengrab

Jiles’ Mookie Blaylock era has entered night mode. Following a radiant day on the gridiron last fall in his “Sauce Gardner” video, the Brockton rapper slips into the shadows for his new visual “Half On a Plate,” which dropped earlier this week (January 23).

Captured by Rayymond, the black and white video sketches Jiles’ narrative with blurred footage, darting lighting effects, and rotating camera angles that send his nighttime stroll sideways. Snide quips cut through the cover of dusk as he cruises solo. “That stupid lil chain came with your rapper starter pack,” Jiles raps while displaying a massive “VB” pinky ring, a nod to his membership in the Brockton collective Van Buren Records.

The well-placed hunk of bling reenforces the tune’s refrain: “Getting kinda skinny / But my name carry weight.” Watch “Half On a Plate” below, then revisit Jiles’ 2023 record Mookie Blaylock.
