It’s true that a band can still catch attention with a simple song title, and that’s what The Dandy Warhols have done today (January 16) with new single “Danzig With Myself.” The clear frontrunner for 2024 Song Title of the Year — we might as well give it to ’em, as the headline suggests — doesn’t actually feature Glenn Danzig, but it does boast Pixies icon Frank Black on fuzzed-out surf guitar.

Can we get a Danzigian “whoa” in the chat?

“It started with a riff that either sounded like Misfits or Danzig and then got slowed down,” says Courtney Taylor-Taylor. “Over time, it became the working title that was just too good to replace.”

And we are grateful. The sludgy rock and roll cruiser will be featured on The Dandy Warhols’ forthcoming new album ROCKMAKER, set for March 15 release via Sunset Blvd. Records. Here in Boston, we’ll hear it live earlier in the month, as the band plays Royale on March 5.
