Boston Thriving: Watch Noah Kahan make his ‘Saturday Night Live’ debut

Love from Vermont, it’s Saturday night!

America’s indie-folk sweetheart Noah Kahan made his Saturday Night Live debut over the weekend, performing a pair of his breakout hits, “Dial Drunk” and “Stick Season” — both of which, alongside a third in “Northern Attitude” — are charting in the Billboard Hot 100.

The television appearance caps a wild year for the Vermont native and Watertown, Mass. resident, who vaulted into unsuspecting superstar territory through an impassioned, cult-like fanbase and word-of-mouth ascension.

Kahan was nominated for Best New Artist at the GRAMMYs, and is up for five Boston Music Awards to be doled out at Big Night Live later this month, in the categories of Artist of the Year, Album/EP of the Year (for Stick Season), Song of the Year (for “Dial Drunk), Live Artist of the Year, and Folk Artist of the Year.

And Kahan is showing no signs of slowing down, as his We’re All Be Here Forever 2024 Tour includes two — two! — sold out shows at Fenway Park in Boston. In fact, most of Kahan’s North American and global tour dates for next year are sold out, including an appearance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and a pair of dates at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Thriving, indeed. Watch the SNL performances below.
