Partners In Irony peace out in the gritty ‘We Gone’ music video

Columbus gave Partners In Irony a pink slip, so the duo is firing back with a five-minute “peace out.”

The Boston rap group burns rubber and drops bars on their way out the door in the music video for their single “We Gone,” which debuted today (December 1). The visual recounts a real-life pivot for the pair, who moved from the Midwest to Miami in 2019 when Ohio’s prospects started to look slim. The result is a charged-up departure: An announcement that even though they’re dipping, the group’s hustle hasn’t diminished a smidge.

Ultimately, Partners In Irony would call Boston their home base — but not before the South buoyed their spirits. A verse and appearance from Cleveland’s DJ Big Stove links the duo’s past to a backdrop of Miami’s bustling streets, captured by director Jason Tyler.

“For this video, we really wanted to pay homage to Miami as the turning point in our growth as artists,” the pair explains. “We moved down from Ohio after being laid off: The goal was to make music full time. The vibe of the video—from the clothing changes to the downtown car shots to the BET Cypher-esque aesthetics—captures our mentality as we were steady grinding away. We just refused to be denied anymore.”

Check out the video below, and keep an eye out for Partners In Irony’s forthcoming album Pink Slips, due out next year.
