Unwound, March 25
Unwound has risen once more. The vaunted Pacific Northwest post-hardcore band reunited back in February for their first show in more than 20 years (see video from that gig at Seattle’s Showbox below), and have now extended this rebirth with a run of East Coast dates for 2024. Included in the short-burst batch is a March 25 twirl at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club, and here’s a fun fact for everyone in the 617: The last Unwound show booked for the Boston area was set for September 11, 2001 at the Middle East in Cambridge. “Canceled at the last minute for some reason,” the band writes on Insta. Unwound released their final album, Leaves Turn Inside You, that year, and in 2022, Numero Group reissued Live Leaves, a live album that documents the band’s final tour before their extended hiatus. Welcome back, and remember:“The past is already gone, the future is not yet here.” Tickets go on sale Friday (December 1) at 10 a.m. local time.
