Mic’d Up: Dane Cook, Orlando Baxter & Jimmy Cash, Pete Davidson

Via The Wilbur

Editor’s Note: The holidaze is just on the horizon, and we’re closing in on arguably the craziest time of the year, so stress is at an all-time high. With that being said, live comedy may just supply the release you’re looking for, and lucky for you, we’ve got you more than covered. With homegrown talent, national headliners, and open mics galore highlighting the calendar, the plethora of powerful comedy throughout the commonwealth continues to show up, night after night. Enter Mic’d Up, our ongoing weekly series that details the best live comedy shows to consider as you head out and about. Below, find our rundown for this week, through Sunday (November 26).

Orlando Baxter & Jimmy Cash at The Loft Comedy Club

It may be off the beaten path, but the star power alone will help you find this show. As two of the biggest names coming out of the Massachusetts comedy scene, both Jimmy Cash and Orlando Baxter are helping us get our holiday break started a bit early as they deliver a one-two punch of midweek hilarity that will hopefully keep you smiling through the migraine of a family-filled Thanksgiving.

ORLANDO & JIMMY’S THANKSGIVING BREAK :: Tuesday, November 21 at The Loft Comedy Club, 92 View St. in Chicopee, MA :: 7:30 p.m., $25 :: Advance tickets

Pete Davidson at The Wilbur

If his crushing set at this year’s Comics Come Home is any indication, we’ll be able to see Pete Davidson expand a bit more on a myriad of topics, memories and traumas with a quick but calculated approach, and his dangerously underrated storytelling abilities. After seeing what he could accomplish in 15 minutes, there should be little argument that this one night doubleheader may just be one of the best to take place at The Wilbur all year.

PETE DAVIDSON :: Wednesday, November 22 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: 6:30 and 9 p.m., $68 to $88 :: Advance tickets

Dane Cook at The Wilbur

Any time the Dane Train heads for home, it’s a time to celebrate. With his Perfectly Shattered tour winding down to its hometown conclusion, Dane Cook looks to pick up some pieces and stick them back together ahead of what is already shaping up to be a big year for him in 2024, as he has a myriad of projects in the works. This won’t be the last we’ve seen of him, but it just may be the most confident and “ready to rock” that we’ve seen him in quite some time.

DANE COOK :: Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m., $35 to $78 :: Advance tickets
