As the saying goes, there’s a lot to like about Lowell — especially the new springtime tradition that is The Town and The City Festival. The annual city-wide music fest has announced the first round of performers for its 2024 edition, which will take place the weekend of April 26 and 27.
Artists on the schedule for the fest’s fifth edition include Amythyst Kiah, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and Robyn Hitchcock, as well as the usual assortment of Massachusetts and New England acts. Akrobatik, The Q-Tip Bandits, The Chelsea Curve, Jen Kearney, Linnea’s Garden, and 2023 Rock and Roll Rumble champs One Fall are among the homegrown talent, plus Lowell locals such as Colleen Green (pictured above), D-Tension and The Secrets, The Shirts and Shoes, and Tysk Tysk Task.
The festival will reveal the remainder of the lineup in early 2024. As in past years, curated performances will span 12-plus venues across Lowell, from rock clubs like Taffeta to more intimate settings, a la Brew’d Awakening, Gallery Z, and Lala Books.
Discounted two-day passes to The Town and The City Festival are available to purchase for $45 through November 30. Check out the full lineup (so far) before you snag the first Black Friday deal of the season.
