After decades of forging his own kind of comedy war path, Lewis Black has decided his future lies beyond the “Yeller Brick Road,” and he’s inviting us to join him for one more trip to visit the wizard – and most likely tell him to go fuck himself.
Per his announcement earlier this week, Black is putting his touring days behind him with his Goodbye Yeller Brick Road Tour, which stops at The Wilbur on March 22. Leading up to the announcement of his retirement from the road, Black released his most stand-up special, Tragically, I Need You on YouTube back in May. He also served as guest host of The Daily Show earlier this summer in the absence of former host Trevor Noah, and it was recently announced that he will be reprising his role as Anger on the Pixar sequel Inside Out 2.
Following a summer on the road with Bert Kreischer’s Fully Loaded Comedy Festival, Ralph Barbosa is making his Wilbur debut in 2024 as part of his Super Cool Ass Tour on January 18. Most recently, Barbosa put an exclamation point on a year in which he also made his late-night debut on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, with the premiere of his debut hour special, Cowabunga, which landed at Netflix on Halloween.
Australian comedy trio Sooshi Mango will also be making their way from down under for their own Wilbur debut on February 27 as part of their Off The Boat Tour. Aside from bringing the tour to different parts of the world and selling over 150,000 tickets in 2022, the award-winning troupe also opened their own restaurant, Johnny, Vince & Sam’s Ristorante in Melbourne while working on their first feature film and TV show.
With one show already sold out, Jeff Arcuri will officially be bringing twice the fun to The Wilbur with two shows between May 30 and 31. In addition to his numerous TV and radio appearances including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Comedy Central’s Roast Battle, Laughs! on Fox, and SiriusXM, Arcuri can also be seen throwing down at New York’s Comedy Cellar on a nightly basis.
A bit outside of town, Kevin James is bringing his Owls Don’t Walk Tour to Chevalier Theatre on May 18. Aside from inadvertently offering up the unofficial meme of the year, James has also continued to build his latest hour with shows all over the country, it was just recently announced that his latest stand-up special, Irregardless will premiere on Amazon Prime Video later this winter. His previous special, Never Don’t Give Up, premiered on Netflix in 2018.
Additionally, Modi has tacked on a February 28 show to his stay at The Wilbur, and Jim Gaffigan has filled out his weekend stop at Chevalier Theatre next month with a new show on December 17.
Presale tickets for these shows can be accessed by using the Wilbur presale code VANYA starting at on Thursday (November 16) at 10 a.m. ET, before tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday (November 17) starting at 10 a.m. ET, with the exception of the Modi show, which goes on sale on Thursday at 10 a.m. ET.
