flipturn, The Something More Tour, March 29
Most of us one day woke up and realized flipturn was our new favorite band. And for those who have yet to experience that sensation, that day is sure to come. It may even arrive before the Florida band rolls up our way for a March 29 show at Citizens House of Blues in Boston, part of a 2024 tour that finds flipturn “playing our biggest headline shows yet.” The rise has been gradual for the group born out of a Ferrnadina Beach garage in the mid-’10s by a couple of high school friends, but it also has been earned; last year’s Shadowglow elevated their game and drawing national attention, and a deluxe reboot of the record landed this summer. And for those wondering, the name flipturn comes from the world of competitive swimming, which bassist and co-founder Madeline Jarman participated in growing up. Tickets go on sale Thursday (November 9) at 10 a.m. local time.
