With every visit from Ronny Chieng, Boston crowds have shown the love more and more each time. As he plots his return, however, he’s about to have us feeling some hate.
As announced earlier this week, Chieng is making his way back to The Wilbur for two shows between March 29 and 30, as part of his upcoming Love to Hate It tour. It’s been quite a full few years for Chieng, as he’s taken on a number of television and film roles aside from his extensive touring schedule, including History of The World, Pt. II, Mulligan, M3GAN, and Joy Ride, among others, while continuing to contribute as a correspondent on The Daily Show. He also released his most recent special, Speakeasy, on Netflix last year.
Tom Papa is paying another visit to The Wilbur as part of his Good Stuff tour on April 6. It will be the second trip to Boston in as many years for Papa, when he recorded his most recent special, What a Day! at the famed Tremont Street comedy cathedral last October. Since then, he’s appeared in the Affleck and Damon-led film Air, and has continued his work as host of the Breaking Bread with Tom Papa podcast.
Additionally, Jim Gaffigan heads outside the city limits when he makes his way to town, with an added show at Medford’s Chevalier Theatre on December 16, while Ari Shaffir has added a third show to the Wibur stop on his The Wrong Side of History tour with a 7:30 p.m. spot on February 1.
