Dropkick Murphys, St. Patrick’s Day shows, March 15 to 17
Never mind the rest of the calendar; Boston’s greatest holiday is still several months away. But St. Patrick’s Day got a little bit closer this week as Dropkick Murphys unveiled their annual residency on Lansdowne Street. The Celtic punk band’s 2024 swing includes an opening show at House of Blues on March 14, then a trio of shows at MGM Music Hall at Fenway from March 15 to 17. Pennywise will support each show, and additional opening acts announced in the coming months. As we reported earlier in the week, the Dropkicks news arrives in the midst of the band’s current U.S. tour. In addition to this year’s prior St. Patrick’s Day shows, Dropkick Murphys also performed at Boston Calling this May as a last-minute substitute for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who dropped off the lineup one day before they were scheduled to perform. Tickets to the upcoming gigs go on sale Friday (October 20) at 10 a.m. local time.
