There’s no level of raunchy absurdity that Steph Tolev finds off-limits, and if she’s got anything to say about it — which she almost definitely does — the people of Somerville are about to be introduced to a whole new level of high-octane stand-up.
As announced on Tuesday (August 22), Tolev will be making her first trek to Somerville’s Crystal Ballroom on November 12. It will mark the Los Angeles-based comedian’s second visit to Massachusetts in almost exactly a year, after slaying on the ROAR! stage in Springfield in November 2022. Just over the course of the past two years, Tolev has made a number of strides in her bustling comedy career in addition to selling out shows all over LA with her unfiltered and oftentimes considered filthy stand-up approach, from opening for Bill Burr on his tour last year to featuring on Burr’s Friends Who Kill special, which was filmed during last year’s Netflix Is a Joke Festival. Additionally, Tolev also started a podcast last year, Steph Infection, and performed as a featured artist during this year’s Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.
In what has become as much of a tradition (at least for comedy fans) as the holidays themselves, Maine’s favorite comedy son Bob Marley is making his way to the area for some Downeast double-dipping with a show at The Wilbur on December 28, before closing up Chevalier Theatre’s year with a show in Medford on December 30. Marley has continued to be a staple and representative of the New England comedy game, selling out shows all over the region and beyond over the course of this past year.
Additionally, Nicole Byer has added a second show to her sold-out stop at The Wilbur on November 11, with a new 9:45 p.m. slot.
Tickets for these shows can be accessed via The Regulars presale starting today (August 23) at 10 a.m. ET before The Wilbur’s presale, which can be accessed using the code VANYA, begins at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday (August 24). General on-sale begins on Friday (August 25) at noon ET.
