So far this season, lightning has hit Boston all summer long. But the real thunder dropped Friday (July 28) after Bad Rabbits unleashed their first new music, an assertive R&Beatdown rallying call for positivity and support titled “Goin Up.” The Boston trio’s new single hits the streams alongside a video filmed, directed, and edited by Apag Studios in vocalist Fredua Boakye’s family’s homeland of Accra, Ghana.

“Making this song – and our forthcoming album – was fueled by the freedom of shedding burdens, the courage to embrace change, and the wisdom earned from learning through adversity,” the trio declares in a statement. “I think Bad Rabbits is a testament to resilience, and in the light of this rebirth, we have found the power to create a future that surpasses the limits of our past.”

After “Goin Up” soundtracked the weekend, Boakye took to social media to thank everyone for the support, and shed additional light on the new music. “‘Goin up’, pretty much, is a testament to just always believing in yourself, and using the love from your families and friends as fuel for your fire.” he says on Insta.

Boakye also notes that the video also reflects the spirit of the Bad Rabbits core trio, and how they move together, have each others’ backs, and need each others’ support at all times. Fire it up below.
