The Menzingers get heavy on ‘There’s No Place In This World For Me’

Longstanding scene staples The Menzingers have returned with yet another gut-wrenching single —this time, with additional exciting news to boot.

From the outset, “There’s No Place In This World For Me,” released July 18 via Epitaph, lets you know that this won’t be a lighthearted summer singalong. Instead, the track opens with a strong guitar line reminiscent of those from their 2019 album Hello Exile before bringing in the purgatorial limbo that sits at the thematic center of the song. “When I’m here, I wanna be there / When I’m there, I wanna be anywhere else,” goes the opening lyric. From there, the band explores that feeling of not knowing where, if anywhere, one fits in — likely leaving many a listener headbanging with tears in their eyes at the end of the three-and-a-half-minute anthem.

About “There’s No Place In This World For Me,” the Philadelphia-based band tweets that “this song is an anthem for anyone stuck between where they are and where they want to be.” Moreover, they teased that the single is “from our upcoming album that… well we can’t go into details just yet but trust us, it’s coming soon!”

The three-fold announcement of the single also included a series of new tour dates in November and December. As part of the tour, the Menzingers stop at Roadrunner in Brighton on November 10, with support from Microwave, Cloud Nothings, and Rodeo Boys.
