Double Wish dodge black clouds around good intentions on ‘Edge to Edge’

California duo Double Wish describe their sound as “dark sunshine-pop”, and we can’t think of a better vibe as we slowly crawl through a summer season that’s constantly testing our optimism. Multi-instrumentalists Philippe Andre and Adam Sabolick hit the headlines today (July 18) with a laid-back new tune called “Edge to Edge,” and it arrives with news of the band’s debut EP Light Split Sparkle getting the “expanded edition” treatment from Hit the North Records and Neon Bloodbath (streaming August 4; vinyl in September). “‘Edge to Edge’ is a song about being your own worst enemy… losing control of yourself, fighting urges,” says Sabolick. “It’s ironic how doing the things that are good for you are sometimes the hardest things to do at all.” Like a little black cloud above all those good intentions.
