When items are scratched off your bucket list, very rarely are they revisited. But in the case of Steve-O, who is a living example of not doing things by the book, he’s making his way back to town for at least one more go-around.
As announced earlier this week, the legendary modern-day Evil Knievel will be bringing his long-running Bucket List tour to The Wilbur stage on September 3 for another night of grotesque, cringe-inducing fun as he showcases all the gnarly and outright jaw-dropping insanity of some uncensored stunts that even the Jackass camp wasn’t able to present to the masses. Since he last came through, Steve-O’s reach has only widened as a result of his wildly successful podcast, Steve-O’s Wild Ride, and the 2022 release of Jackass Forever, the final chapter in the iconic franchise’s saga.
Looking ahead to 2024, the colder days continue to fill up on the calendar, as Ashley Gavin makes her way back to Boston to make her Wilbur debut on January 26. In addition to her podcast, We’re Having Gay Sex, Gavin also released a full-hour special, Live in Chicago, in April 2023.
No stranger to The Wilbur himself, Maz Jobrani is also slated to return to Tremont Street in the early part of the new year to unleash a brand new hour on February 9, as part of his Mr. International tour. While he recently released his latest stand-up special, The Birds & The Bees, on YouTube back in April, Jobrani continues to sell out shows all over the world with his largely positive perspective meshed with a crushingly honest approach to both lighthearted and heavy topics.
Additionally, Arlington’s funniest son Dane Cook has added a second show to his highly-anticipated Thanksgiving weekend homecoming at The Wilbur on November 25.
Over at Medford’s latest hot spot Deep Cuts, New York comic Pat Regan brings his widely-acclaimed brand of stand-up to Medford for two shows — one of which is already sold out — on July 11. Aside from his work on stage, the Hacks star also produces a fan-favorite podcast, Seek Treatment.
With a number of writing credits to their names, as well as an acclaimed penchant for improv, Saturday Night Live writing duo Jimmy Fowlie and Ceara Jane O’Sullivan are bringing their long-running joint comedic force to Deep Cuts on September 9, as part of their Trauma Blonding tour. Come for the relationship advice, and stay for the well-crafted responses, jokes and scenarios that are sure to be as dangerously sharp as they are actually helpful.
Just down the street at Chevalier Theatre, Vine all-star and all-around digital content powerhouse Trey Kennedy is bringing his Grow Up tour to Medford on November 19. When he isn’t selling out spaces all over the country with his stand-up chops, Kennedy also hosts his wildly successful podcast, Correct Opinions.
Due to popular demand, Eddie Izzard will be sticking around for at least more night, as she’s added a new 8 p.m. show at Chevalier Theatre on September 17.
Tickets to these shows can be accessed now via pre-sale using the code VANYA, before general on-sale starts on Friday (June 30) at 10 a.m. ET, aside from Cook’s show and Trauma Blonding, which are on sale at noon ET, and Gavin’s, Izzard’s and Jobrani’s shows, which are already on sale.
