James Blake, Playing Robots Into Heaven Tour, October 9
It’s going to be a weird summer, which means we’re in store for an even weirder autumn. So James Blake coming through with September album Playing Robots Into Heaven should set a perfect tone, and the singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer shows it off in technicolor fashion when he plays MGM Music Hall at Fenway on October 9, with support from Oneohtrix Point Never. The new album finds the shape-shifting Blake returning to the electronic roots of his Hessle, Hemlock and R&S records days, and it’s led by the fidgety single “Big Hammer,” which arrives accompanying music video directed by Oscar Hudson (Radiohead, Bonobo). Get into our dystopian sci-fi fantasy, one calculated beat at a time. Tickets go on sale Friday (June 30) at 10 a.m. local time.
The Band CAMINO, Screaming In The Dark Tour, with Bad Suns and Charlotte Sands, September 16.
Playing live at MGM Music Hall at Fenway. Tickets go on sale Friday (June 30) at 10 a.m. local time.
