Paper Lady conjure shapeshifting shoegaze for new EP

Via the band

Paper Lady won’t fold, but they sure know how to rip. On their new EP Traveling Exploding Star, the Boston band conjures a bewitched swirl of shoegaze that shapeshifts between tracks. From the leaden dirge “Swan Song,” to the slow, spacey bloom of final song “Violet,” the EP summons every sound in Paper Lady’s alt-rock spellbook, even unexpected entries like tranquil outlier “To the Moon.” “I hope that you still like the view,” vocalist and guitarist Alli Raina sings over the twang of a distant 12-string guitar, adding a soft twinkle to Paper Lady’s Traveling Exploding Star.
