Here’s a fun thing to write: Boston Calling is this week, and we’re pretty much counting down the days until we’re out across the fields of Harvard Athletic Complex for what’s usually one of the most enjoyable weekends of the year. And as we’ve alluded to in previous posts, we really can’t wait for Sunday’s slate, which packs an insane lineup in just a few short hours, from Workman Song opening it up to Paramore closing the whole damn thing down. We’ve already hyped new music from Sunday performers Sorry Mom and Genesis Owusu, and now we can add The Linda Lindas to the itinerary.

The Los Angeles indie-punk band get us stoked for their set with the release today (May 22) of a new video for “Too Many Things,” their April single and first dose of new music in 2023. The clip was directed by Ryan Baxley and finds The Linda Lindas playing multiple roles against the backdrop of a busy diner. It was filmed at Burgerlords in the Highland Park neighborhood of LA.

Here’s what they had to say about the driving track when it dropped last month: “We had a nonstop, jam-packed, and awesome 2022 playing shows, going on tours, and meeting fans and making friends across the U.S. as well as Spain, Germany, England, Japan, Canada, and Mexico. After taking a short break to catch our breath, recharge, focus on school, and go back into the studio, we are ready to share a song about how everything unfolds so fast all the time — the surprises, the disappointments, and the opportunities that pass us by at every moment. In the midst of all this, we hope you have space for ‘Too Many Things’ and are ready for more music, shows, and announcements coming soon!”

See ya Sunday.
