Thundercat, In Yo Girl’s City Tour 2023, October 15

Later this month, Thundercat is set to play a handful of shows out west with Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Strokes. But the acclaimed Los Angeles artist, producer, and instrumentalist takes center stage this fall, when he brings his In Yo Girl’s City Tour out for a North American run that plays MGM Music Hall at Fenway on October 15. The news comes just as Thundercat dropped a new collab with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker called “No More Lies,” his first new track since 2020’s Grammy-nominated It Is What It Is album. “I’ve wanted to work with Kevin since the very first Tame Impala album,” Thundercat says. “I feel that I knew that us working together would be special.” No lies detected. Tickets go on sale Friday (May 5) at 10 a.m. local time.

Sylvan Esso, No Rules (Tour) with GRRL, September 30

There’s just no quit in Sylvan Esso. The North Carolina electronic-pop duo of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn sure know how to throw a party, and have expanded their No Rules (Tour) for the fall, adding several new dates including a September 30 dance party romp at MGM Music Hall at Fenway. The tour is in support of 2022’s No Rules Sandy album, which was described by the pair as “a work of improvisation and experiment.” Sylvan Esso’s new round of dates include an inspiring list of support acts, and the Boston date gets treated to GRRL, a rising DJ and producer also out of Durham. Tickets go on sale Friday (May 5) at 10 a.m. local time.
