A few weeks back we stayed up all night with Tigercub, the English rock trio who turned up the nocturnal dynamics on Play My Favorite Song.” Now, the Brighton band return with another noisy twirl in “Swoon,” released this past Friday (April 28), and it’s loud enough to awaken and disrupt any shallow sense of sleeping in.
The loud/quiet chaos and towering smooth tension of “Swoon” is the latest to be featured on Tigercub’s forthcoming album The Perfume Of Decay, out June 2 via Loosegroove Records, a label co-founded by Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard.
“‘Home where I wanted to be’ – when I first moved away from Sunderland to live in Brighton, I thought I would never look back,” says Tigercub frontman Jamie Hall. “However, as the years have passed, I’ve grown more and more homesick and have realized my deep yearning to reconnect with my roots in the north of England. ‘Swoon’ is about uncovering those feelings and addressing them. The track is brooding, dynamic, and explosive, a taster of things to come from The Perfume of Decay.”
Leading up to the album release, Tigercub take over North American with a spring stateside romp that hits Cambridge’s Middle East on June 6. That should be a fun one. Get into “Swoon” after the tour date jump.
