Yesterday in our Rock And Roll Rumble Night 4 preview, we warned that “Friday morning doesn’t stand a fucking chance.” Well here we are, sludging through the end of the work week, but feeling alive because Night 5 is upon us as the “World Series of Boston Rock” heads into the second and final weekend of its preliminary round. Last night, rock n’ brass brigade Ruin The Nite moved on, no doubt bringing some of that party and friendship vibe that helped a few of its members win the whole damn thing as Goddamn Draculas back in 2014 (side note: How the hell was that almost a decade ago?!)
Tonight’s Night 5 (April 14) aptly delivers a Friday night fight worthy of the marquee lights. On tap this evening are expansive rock-gaze band Luxury Deathtrap (9 p.m.); fiery mod-punk trio The Chelsea Curve (9:45 p.m.); electric pop-rock dudes Kid Disaster (10:30 p.m.; pictured up top); and heavy rock dynamo Parts Per Million (11:15 p.m.).
We got another good one brewing. Saturday morning is officially cancelled.
