Temples, June 10
This Friday (April 14) delivers the release of Temples‘ anticipated new album Exotico, and we’re already worked up about it. January’s cosmic buzzsaw single “Gamma Rays” was one of the first best new songs of 2023, and February’s kinetic “Cicada” proved the album was going to be a spectacular one. The English psych-pop band take the record over to North America in a few short weeks, hitting the Paradise Rock Club on June 10. It should prove an intimate and psychedelic romp on Commonwealth Avenue, nearly 10 years after Temples played Great Scott as the final band to play the pill’s weekly dance party residency. Tickets go on sale Friday (April 14) at 10 a.m. local time.
If anyone needs assurance that 2023 might turn out okay, just know there will be one night later this summer when we can hear “Stay Useless” and “King of the Beach” live at the same show. That’s because Cloud Nothings and Wavves are hitting the road together, rolling into Paradise Rock Club on June 16. The co-headlining run is the two bands’ first extended tour together since 2015 collab LP No Life For Me, so this should be all sorts of fun. All hail the guitar, and all hail those glory days a decade ago when it seemed like every new indie band just fucking ruled. Tickets go on sale Friday (April 14) at noon local time.
