This past weekend delivered a hearty dose of Worriers fairly far from the Los Angeles project’s home. The band led by singer-songwriter Lauren Denitzio released new album Warm Blanket on Friday before appearing at Providence’s Fete Music Hall, followed by a show Saturday night at Faces Brewing Co. in Malden.
The album arrived with a cinematic new video for the title track, and it finds the melodic indie band utilizing three contemporary dancers to display emotive tensions as the song slowly builds to its engaging, fuzzed-out peak.
“We asked three dancers to interpret the song in a way that would embody the anxiety that goes with the impulse to just stick your head in the sand when the world is overwhelming,” says Denitzio. “The song, as the title track of the record, is written from the perspective of someone who would rather avoid conflict than address difficult emotions and conversations. I’ve always wanted to work with dancers and movement for a music video in this way, and I’m excited to share these performances.“
Fire it up below, and take the entirely of Warm Blanket with you as you canvass the week ahead.
