Editor’s Note: After what felt like an endless winter, spring has finally sprung, and we’re here for all it entails. And while the refreshing breezes and start of baseball season have us itching to get outside and shake off the rust of hibernation, the comedy juggernauts posting up around town are making the decision to make our way inside clubs and theaters almost too easy. With homegrown talent, national headliners, and open mics galore highlighting the calendar, the plethora of powerful comedy throughout the commonwealth continues to bring the rain, kinda like those “April showers” we’ve always heard about. As the days finally become warmer and we start to thaw from the bitter cold, we always want to make sure you know about cool stuff going on in the world of comedy. Enter Mic’d Up, our ongoing weekly series that details the best live comedy shows to consider as you head out and about. Below find our rundown for this week, through Sunday (April 16).

Alex Edelman at Emerson Colonial Theatre

After weeks of sold-out performances off Broadway in New York, the Brookline native brings his smash-hit solo show back home for a sleek 14-show run. While the show has already garnered a bountiful amount of praise, Edelman is really just getting started, as it was announced last week that after months of running off-Broadway, the show will be making its way back to New York for a limited summer run on Broadway between June 22 and August 19 at The Hudson Theatre. So catch him if you can, because he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

ALEX EDELMAN: JUST FOR US :: Tuesday, April 11 to Sunday, April 23 at Calderwood Pavilion, 527 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: Showtimes vary, $65 to $99 :: Advance Tickets

Margaret Cho at The Wilbur

Generally speaking, it’s all love coming from the expansive comedy mind of Margaret Cho. But this time around, she’s both live and livid, according to the name of her tour, and if you’ve paid any attention to the mayhem in the world, it’s really no surprise as to why. With so much in the realm of possibility when it comes to what Cho could cover with her legendarily well-articulated verbal (and maybe physical) middle fingers pointed at the absurdity around her, there’s no telling what will be said, but we know it will be more than just a great time for a night out at the theater. MARGARET CHO: LIVE AND LIVID :: Thursday, April 13 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: 6:30 p.m., $30 to $50 :: Advance Tickets

Gary Gulman at Academy Of Music Theatre

Always one to bring a refreshing perspective to social topics in an inclusive and lighthearted manner, Gulman rounds third base and heads for home as he brings his latest hour, Born On 3rd Base back to Massachusetts for a mid-month sold out soirée. Obviously, a homecoming for “The Gul” is always a reason to celebrate, but with the amount of work he’s put into this particular batch of material over the last few years, it’s sure to be an absolute clinic on comedic force.

GARY GULMAN: BORN ON 3RD BASE :: Friday, April 14 at Academy Of Music Theatre, 274 Main St. in Northampton, MA :: 7:30 p.m., $25 to $35 :: Advance Tickets

Joe List at The Wilbur

A homegrown talent making moves is always a rad thing to see. For Joe List, the moves just seem to keep on coming, and with just the latest level-up coming in the form of not only headlining, but also selling out the famed home turf venue, List is already putting an exclamation point on a year that follows a titanic creative effort in 2022, so we’re here for all of what he’s bringing back home to unleash in a bigger space than he’s used to around these parts.

JOE LIST :: Saturday, April 15 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: 6 p.m., $31 to $41 :: Advance Tickets
