Not bad… not well… but certainly good enough. Not Bad Not Well took home Night 2 of the Rock And Roll Rumble‘s preliminary round last night at The Middle East in Cambridge, emerging from what we thought was one of the tougher group pairings of this year’s “World Series of Boston rock.” The progressive post-hardcore newcomers continue a bit of a personal winning streak, as two of its members took usLights to the 2016 Rumble final.
The beat keeps rolling tonight (April 8), with a Saturday night throwdown worth the price of admission: Scene stalwart and rock resurrectionists D-Tension & The Secrets (9 p.m.); melodic punk trio, and perhaps our unofficial pick to win it all, One Fall (9:45 p.m.); sludgy prog-metal riff lords City of Dis (10:30 p.m.); and intricate prog-metal brigade Time Wolf (11:15 p.m.). Listen to each band below.
[Disclaimer: The author of this post has worked with some of the aforementioned bands and artists, as well as a wide spectrum of this year’s Rumble performers, and offers no additional editorial commentary other than our usual Vanyaland endorsement that everyone in this city should support Boston music in all its forms and features.]
