Melanie Martinez‘ PORTALS Tour, July 1
There are two groups of people in this world: Those who clicked on the photo up top wondering WTF is going on there, and those who clicked it knowing that’s Melanie Martinez. The New York alt-pop phenom returns to town July 1, bringing her PORTALS Tour to MGM Music Hall at Fenway. The multi-platinum, 12 billion-streaming artist with a devoted following hits North America this summer showcasing her new album, last month’s dynamic PORTALS, and she does it while “performing as an otherworldly new creature, which is a rebirth of her alter ego Cry Baby.” And if you don’t know, then now you know. Tickets go on sale Friday (April 7) at 10 a.m. local time.
All-American Rejects‘ Wet Hot American Summer Tour, August 18
We know we’re usually supposed to plug new songs from touring artists in this space, but as soon as we saw The All-American Rejects were bringing their Wet Hot All American Summer Tour to MGM Music Hall at Fenway on August 18, we couldn’t help but fire up late-aughts mega-jam “Swing Swing” — which would still be a massive hit if released in 2023. We always say that the best part about summer touring packages is the wealth of jams we’re likely to hear in a single evening, and with New Found Glory, The Starting Line, and The Get Up Kids part of this emo caravan, we’ll be sing-crying along from opener to final encore. And hey, with the location of the venue, The Get Up Kids have to play “Mass Pike” at this one, right? Tickets go on sale Friday (April 7) at 10 a.m. local time.
