Spider-Verse, Spider-Verse, does whatever a ‘Spider-Verse’ trailer does

Spider-Verse
Sony Pictures Animation

Remember that Blue Beetle teaser that dropped yesterday? Well, if you’re talking about “legacy” superheroes, you can’t really avoid mentioning the single greatest of them all — Miles Morales, the one-time Ultimate Spider-Man, who became a cross-over sensation when the fantastic Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped back in 2018. After being swung around the release schedule like one of Spidey’s jaunts through NYC, the sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, is finally coming out in just under two months, and there’s a brand-new trailer straight from Sony to show off exactly what’s in store for everybody then. Did they really need another trailer for this one? Given that the first was almost four minutes long, probably not. But it’s nice to have new footage and make sure to pay close attention to catch some some fun MCU references, too.

Here’s a synopsis:

“Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning ‘Spider-Verse’ saga, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.’ After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.”

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will swing into theaters on June 2. Seriously, we cannot wait for this one. If you haven’t played it yet, we highly recommend checking out Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PC or PS5, because that game is fantastic. It’s a good warm-up for what’s sure to be one of the summer’s hottest sequels.
