Elvis Costello, July 6

Fresh off his residency at Gramercy Theatre in New York City and an intimate appearance at The Cabot earlier this month, Elvis Costello has announced he and The Imposters’ We’re All Going On A Summer Holiday Tour, which comes to MGM Music Hall at Fenway on July 6. Plenty has been written about the rock and roll icon, so we’ll angle this blurb a different way: Fourth of July falls on a Tuesday this year, and with this show landing on a Thursday, we’re pretty much guaranteed the entire week off. Hey, it’s a summer holiday, after all. Costello is joined on this run by longtime collaborator, co-conspirator, and power-pop legend Nick Lowe, with Los Straitjackets rounding things out. Tickets go on sale Friday (March 31) at 10 a.m. local time.

Steve Miller Band, June 28

Are we allowed to say it’s Miller Time? We dunno! But we can say with confidence that Steve Miller Band returns to Boston with a June 28 hit parade at MGM Music Hall at Fenway, with the prolific Dave Mason opening things up. It’s the 50th anniversary of The Joker, and Miller and Co. have lined up the hits that span decades, including “Fly Like An Eagle”, “Abracadabra”, “Space Cowboy” and all the others you didn’t realize you knew by heart. Be a joker, be a smoker, be a midnight toker with a slate of tunes that sound so much better in the summertime. Tickets go on sale Friday (March 31) at 10 a.m. local time.

Ali Wong, July 29

Ali Wong’s original appearance at MGM Music Hall at Fenway on July 28 sold so damn well, a second show has been added for the next night, July 29. The Hard Knock Wife, Netflix mainstay, and familiar face to our comedy section pulls double duty in Boston fresh off serving as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race. and the premiere of comedy drama Beef, of which she stars and serves as executive producer. Tickets go on sale Friday (March 31) at 10 a.m. local time.
