Mic’d Up: Fortune Feimster, Andrew Dice Clay, Emily Ruskowski

Via The Wilbur Facebook Page

Editor’s Note: While the month of March is most often closely associated with shamrocks, Guinness, and Dropkick Murphys becoming everyone’s favorite band for a few weeks, look no further than right here for your pot o’ gold at the end of the comedy rainbow. With homegrown talent, national headliners, and open mics galore highlighting the calendar, the plethora of powerful comedy in and around the city continues to bring a level of madness that can’t even be topped by the top-seeded basketball program in the nation. As the days (hopefully) become warmer and we start to thaw from the bitterness chill of winter, we always want to make sure you know about cool stuff going on in the world of comedy. Enter Mic’d Up, our ongoing weekly series that details the best live comedy shows to consider as you head out and about. Below find our rundown for this week, through Sunday (March 19).

Andrew Dice Clay at Laugh Boston

In a time of comedy superstars aplenty, there remains very few true comedy rock stars — and the Dice Man continues his reign as the king. With two special engagements in the Seaport, it’s about high time we see what Clay has been up to from behind the mic, and while we don’t dwell on the past too much around here, if his track record says anything about what we can expect this time around, we’re sure to be in for a wild ride. And to make it an even more immersive and truer experience, tickets are starting at 69 bucks. Nice.

ANDREW DICE CLAY :: Tuesday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 15 at Laugh Boston, 425 Summer St. in Boston, MA :: 7 p.m., $69 to $150 :: Advance Tickets

Corey Rodrigues & “Big Irish” Jay Hollingsworth at Off Cabot

This town isn’t big enough for Corey Rodrigues and Jay Hollingsworth, but Beverly apparently is, so they’re making the most of it to mark the occasion. Not only are two wildly potent comedy talents taking the stage in the same room on the same night, but both Rodrigues and “Big Irish” are recording half-hour specials to mark the occasion. It’s a near-perfect scenario.

COREY RODRIGUES & “BIG IRISH” JAY HOLLINGSWORTH :: Wednesday, March 15 at Off Cabot, 9 Wallis St. in Beverly, MA :: 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., free admission :: Advance tickets

Fortune Feimster at The Wilbur

It’s simple: Fortune Feimster is just one of the best in the game. As she makes her way back to the area with a brand new slate of material following her latest Netflix special, Good Fortune towards the end of 2022, you better believe there’s a whole new hour of killer stories, punchlines and an unwavering honesty that makes Feimster the pot o’ gold at the end of your St. Patrick’s Day weekend entertainment rainbow.

FORTUNE FEIMSTER :: Friday, March 17 to Saturday, March 18 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: Friday at 6:30, Saturday at 6 and 8:45 p.m., $38 to $48 :: Advance Tickets

Emily Ruskowski at Nick’s Comedy Stop

Another weekend, another stellar homegrown talent headlining Nick’s. It just so happens that this around, though, it’s the unshakable local fave with plenty of gut-busting anecdotes about a widening range of topics that regardless of context or subject matter, remain entirely too relatable to not be completely locked in from start to finish

EMILY RUSKOWSKI :: Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18 at Nick’s Comedy Stop, 100 Warrenton St. in Boston, MA :: Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., $20 to $22 :: Advance Tickets
