Step up to hear Yet to Bloom’s new EP, and then step right back down, lest you get blown away by the oncoming inferno. The Boston band takes a blowtorch to adolescence with their debut EP Ashes, Ashes, which dropped last Friday (February 24). The three-track project burns through the first steps of adulthood with searing pop-punk, waxing nostalgic (“Step Up/Step Back”) as Yet to Bloom duke it out with imposter syndrome and the nagging urge to accommodate everyone, all the time (“People Pleaser”). It’s a lot to unlearn for any newly-minted adult — or hell, for a person at any stage of life. But Ashes, Ashes make it clear that Yet To Bloom can take the heat. Light it up below.
