Ross Mathews’ career with a mic is nothing new, but this summer, he’s going from screen to stage to deliver his infectious wit and personality in a different way.
As announced earlier this week, the longtime TV personality and current co-host of The Drew Barrymore Show will be taking some time this summer to bring his upbeat and bubbly brand of humor into a solo setting with a stand-up show at The Wilbur on June 9. While slaying from the stage isn’t exactly new to Mathews, who brought a one-man show to venues around the country in support of his two books, Name Drop and his national bestseller Man-Up: Tales of My Delusional Self-Confidence, it’s sure to be an interesting and refreshing experience to see the RuPaul’s Drag Race judge in this light.
While Mathews is focusing on bringing a human element to the stage, Conner O’Malley will be making his way to Somerville’s Center For The Arts at The Armory on March 16 to showcase a full slate of comedy products and newly developed comedy technologies that seek to innovate the industry landscape, all delivered in the form of new videos, stand-up and more. Truth be told, we’re not 100 percent sure what all of that means exactly, but judging by the colorful and free-flowing nature of O’Malley’s comedy, as seen in stage and through his highly successful YouTube channel, what we do know is that whatever he’s delivering will be a fun time to say the least.
Additionally, Theo Von has added a 10 p.m. show to his Chevalier Theatre return on April 1. Tickets are already on sale.
Pre-sale tickets for Mathews and O’Malley can be accessed starting today (February 23) when you use the code VANYA. General on-sale begins Friday at noon ET.
