Josh Jones & Trevor Kidd find ‘Salvation’ in Alexander Sharp’s grindhouse

Gritty music calls for gritty visuals, and director Alexander Sharp has answered the sonic call sent out by Josh Jones & Trevor Kidd. The Vancouver director has crafted a visually-striking grindhouse-inspired clip for the duo’s new dirty slow-crawl single “Salvation,” and the pairing feels like perfect match. “The video for ‘Salvation’ was designed to equally entertain and aggressively anesthetize: An outrageous, grindhouse, rock n’ roll music video that would keep reinventing itself,” says Sharp. “I designed it so that it would mutate visually at every verse, chorus, and bridge at such a feverishly bizarre pace, while excreting a kind of perverted effervescence.” Next to Bo Horvat, this is the best thing to bust out of British Columbia this week.
