Earlier today we hyped Charlotte Sands’ new empower-pop single “Alright”, and noted how the homegrown artist was currently on tour in Europe with fellow Massachusetts alt-pop powderkeg PVRIS. Well, turns out the project from producer, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Lyndsey Gunnulfsen has a new banger of her own hitting the streams today (January 26). It’s called “GODDESS,” and it’s a gritty and elastic twirl of impassioned electro-rock ambition that’s said to channel female rage, power, confidence, and autonomy.
“It’s a celebration of femininity, all shapes and forms, and a cathartic, guttural scream at the same time,” says Gunnulfsen. And when she growls out the lyric “This shit is so exhausting,” you can feel her rage through the speakers.
This summer, PVRIS will take part in the Sad Summer Festival tour with Taking Back Sunday, The Maine, Hot Mulligan, Mom Jeans, and others, and it hits Boston’s Leader Bank Pavilion on July 16. Fire up “GODDESS” and scan all the dates below.
