Jacqueline Novak aims to bring The Wilbur to its knees before winter’s end

After bringing her critically-acclaimed tour de force around the globe over the past few years, Jacqueline Novak is bringing it back to town, and hopefully, to bring The Wilbur to its feet in the process.

Announced today (January 18), the comedian and author is revving up the tour machine once again in 2023 to bring her smash hit one-woman show Get On Your Knees to the masses once more, and will be making her way to The Wilbur Theatre for one night only on February 16. It will be the second time Novak has brought the show to Boston, as she stuck around for a bit with a 17-day run at BCA’s Calderwood Pavilion back in 2021. Due to the show’s off-Broadway success, it quickly became a New York Times “Critic’s Pick” and was recognized as one of the best comedy performances of 2019 by the publication. In addition to the show, Novak is also co-host of the POOG podcast, opposite fellow New York-based comic Kate Berlant.

Making his way back to Boston for a little 420 smoke-em-up soirée at The Wilbur on April 20, Rory Scovel is set to deliver his latest hour, dubbed “The Last Tour,” and all we can hope is that the title is just a cheeky name. It’s been a little while since we last welcomed him to town, and since his last trek to Boston, Scovel has released a stand-up special (2021’s Live Without Fear), and has had a number of TV and film roles including Distancing Socially, Babylon and Apple TV’s Physical. When he’s not selling out clubs and theaters all over the country, Scovel is the co-host of Pen Pals with Daniel Van Kirk.

Whether Leslie Jones brings the party vibe herself, or the party vibe knows where to find her remains to be figured out, but it’s good for Boston either way, as Jones sets her sights on one hell of a night at The Wilbur on June 15. Bringing her energetic and upbeat brand of stand-up to Boston, it’ll be the first time back in the city for Jones in quite a while. Since we last saw her, Jones has scored a handful of TV roles including a hosting gig for the reboot of Supermarket Sweep and the smash-hit HBO series Our Flag Means Death, as well as the first guest host spot on The Daily Show following the announcement of Trevor Noah’s departure. In addition to her acting credits that also include a five-year stint on Saturday Night Live, Jones also released her first Netflix stand-up special, Time Machine in 2020.

Additionally, both Trevor Noah and Neal Brennan have added dates to their previously announced stops, with Noah posting his 12th show of his mini-residency in the area with a 7 p.m. spot on April 16 at Chevalier Theatre, and Brennan adding a 9:45 p.m. slot to his one-night stand at The Wilbur on July 15.

You can access presale tickets to all of these shows right now via The Regulars presale, and by using the code VANYA before they go on sale to the general public Friday (January 20) at 10 a.m. ET, with the exception of Brennan and Noah, which go on sale the same day at noon ET.
