Here’s a heathy serving of Death Ray Vision news for your otherwise boring Thursday (January 12). The Massachusetts hardcore punk and metal band led by Killswitch Engage’s Mike D’Antonio announced they have signed to Metal Blade Records, which will issue their forthcoming third album No Mercy From Electric Eyes this summer.
“I could not be more excited about Death Ray Vision joining the Metal Blade family,” says D’Antonio. “The new record is a banger, and I can’t think of a better record label to release it to the world!”
The signing comes with official word that longtime Boston music misfit Keith Bennett, known for his work over decades in bands like Wrecking Crew, Panzerbastard, Casket Rats, and others, has joined on as Death Ray Vision’s new vocalist. The band first introduced Bennett on social media in March of last year, teasing new music and showing the group working together in the studio.
“We’re a lot more cohesive as a band after playing together for so many years, and we’ve gotten better at songwriting and collaborating to bring out the best in everyone’s ideas,” says guitarist Pete Cortese. “Keith brings a whole lot of piss and vinegar, with a side of street cred. He brought a new sense of enthusiasm and excitement and got us even more fired up to make a great record.”
Adds guitarist Chris Rosati adds: “Creatively speaking, Keith is a force of nature. His ability to get inside a new song and quickly come up with vocals and lyrics is really something to witness.”
More details on No Mercy From Electric Eyes will be released “soon,” according to Metal Blade.
