Caye serves an atmospheric reminder to keep our roll slow on ‘A Door’

We’re nine days into the New Year, and chances are few of us have yet to really get going. It’s been a slow, gradual re-introduction to the Real World after a blissful holiday break, and Caye is here with a atmospheric new single titled “A Door” that suggests this slow-roll is a better path forward than the hustle and bustle that pivots us away from our true selves year in and year out.

“This song is a meditation in itself. It’s an inward reflection talking about time, and slowing down in such a fast paced world,” says the Los Angeles artist, producer, and songwriter. “Many of us are always looking for shortcuts to find that greener grass, but in reality, the door that will lead you to peace and happiness is on the inside.”

That’s a sentiment we can all get behind, and the musical mood of “A Door,” which dropped this past Friday (January 6), suggests we shouldn’t be in any sort of rush to jump back into life’s daily craziness. “A Door” will be featured on Caye’s (pronounced “Kai”) forthcoming debut album, We Love, out February 2. The next month, he heads out on his first headlining tour, and included is a March 25 stop at Brighton Music Hall in Boston.
