SuperSmashBroz would like to welcome you to Detty December with a new excuse to get on the dance floor.
The Boston DJ duo slides into Thanksgiving weekend serving a new song called “Magic,” right on cue for Detty December, which SSB explains is a “nickname for the holidays in Lagos [Nigeria] and Accra [Ghana].” The new track melds an intercontinental buffet of sounds, featuring Nigerian singer DwillsHarmony, New Hampshire co-producer Teeba, and Nigerian co-producer BMH. Van Buren Records’ own RLouie mixed and mastered “Magic” as well, leaving Brockton’s stamp on the song.
“DwillsHarmony is a very witty songwriter,” SuperSmashBroz tell Vanyaland, reflecting on the dynamic of their collaborators. “Teeba played an original guitar sample that we flipped and worked on the beat with BMH. He’s [BMH] a really popular rising producer in Nigeria so cooking this one came together pretty smoothly.”
Get your first dose of holiday “Magic” below, and catch SuperSmashBroz performing Friday night (November 25) at Venu in Boston with DJ Money and YHS.
