Remember yesterday? It was the same as today. And tomorrow will land somewhere between now and then. It’s just the way it is these days as most of us feel trapped in a roll where time has no real meaning. Monster Florence feel that same vibe, only the Essex alt-hip-hop crew are setting it to a beat and some bars through hypnotic new single “Borstal.” Though they’ve recently collaborated with English luminaries like Miles Kane and John Cooper Clarke, but here Monster Florence are rolling on their own accord and their own experiences.

“The main idea behind ‘Borstal’ came about from the feeling of being stuck in time, kind of like a Groundhog Day situation where you’re imprisoned in a moment and you feel like you’re not moving,” says the group’s Dream Mclean. “You’re in a perpetual cycle of being stuck in bad habits, and we wanted to put those sentiments into a song.”

Break free as best you can and let “Borstal” soundtrack either a new day or the same day.
