This Show Is Tonight: Cafuné go ‘Running’ with CHVRCHES at Roadrunner

It’s the hottest day of the year, so far, and so coincidentally Vanyaland forever faves CHVRCHES are back in town tonight (August 4) to play Roadrunner in Brighton. The Scottish electronic-pop trio are a frequent player in our ongoing This Show/Stream Is Tonight series, and we’ve covered them fairly relentlessly over the past decade and around their latest album, last year’s Screen Violence.

So for the purposes of this post we’ll spin the attention towards tonight’s opener, a young band from New York that should soon be headlining rock barns like the ‘Runner on their own merit. They’re called Cafuné, they consist of singer/songwriter Sedona Schat and writer/producer Noah Yoo, and they just dropped a new video for the melancholic alt-pop drifter “Running”, the title track off last year’s debut album for their own Aurelians Club label.

It’s an inspired choice pairing up Cafuné with CHVRCHES for the latter’s summer and fall dates, and we encourage everyone to get down to Boston Landing nice and early. Cafuné should be received very warmly.

CHVRCHES + CAFUNÉ :: Thursday, August 4 at Roadrunner, 89 Guest St. in Brighton, MA :: 7 p.m., all ages, $43 to $99 :: Event page :: Advance tickets
