The Devil’s Twins spit hellfire with new single ‘Anger Room’

It’s a tough to accept the crushing reality that your parents won’t support your artistic endeavors. It’s even tougher when your no-good, discouraging dad just so happens to be the devil.

Suckers like Robert Johnson had it easy when they sold their soul to Ol’ Scratch on the spot, but an act like The Devil’s Twins was forced to wait 10 years before making a proper “deal with the devil.” (They’re acknowledging family biases, you know? Apparently even Satan has some scruples.) 2022 marks one decade of joint musicianship for the Boston duo of Jeremiah John and Nicole Marie, and at long last, they’re signing their name along the dotted line for an eternity of fame and fortune.

The band’s highway to hell begins with “Anger Room,” the first single from their forthcoming LP Horns, which gets pressed at Third Man Records early next year. Their newest fable is a tongue-in-cheek extension of The Devil’s Twins’ fictitious origin story, but the new tune (which dropped today, July 22) bottles the very real effects of teeth-grinding wrath. “Anger Room” is the band’s last refuge before their noirish nature curdles and becomes something even darker.

“Anger Room is a song about knowing damn well how ugly you are when you’re angry and want to protect those around you from your rage,” explains vocalist and guitarist Jeremiah John. “It’s about being self-aware and having the foresight to shield those around you. But make no mistake, this isn’t a Godsmack-like angry man’s jock jam. It may be about being angry but it claps, stomps, and grooves the anger away — which is what rock and roll was made for.”

Given that “Anger Room” essentially tackles the most fiery of the seven deadly sins, you know their Papa will be proud. Enter The Devil’s Twins’ “Anger Room” below.
