Things are going pretty damn well for our girl Baby Queen. The anti-pop royalty born Bella Latham is currently supporting Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR tour of Europe; her recent single “Colours For You” was specifically written for Netflix’s hit LGBTQ+ drama Heartstopper; and her status as a voice for the underdog generation becomes more solid with each release. We’ve sung her praises as loud as we possibly can, and now today (July 5) we’re singing something else: Her ripper of a new single, “Nobody Really Cares.”
And yeah, it’s about what you expect it to be about — with a chorus so anthemic it might have just brought the ’90s back all by itself.
“’Nobody Really Cares’ is about realizing it’s okay to be yourself and do exactly what makes you happy, because people are selfish in nature and only have so much space inside their brains reserved for you,” Baby Queen offers up. “I think it’s really liberating to know that nobody cares about your self expression as much as you sometimes think they do, so filtering yourself to please them is pointless.”
Doesn’t get more ’90s than that, actually. Peep “Nobody Really Cares” below.
