When we were teenagers, back in the days before the internet, one of the things we loved to do every spring was grab a newspaper or an alt-weekly and check out all the summer tour packages that were coming to town over the next few months. There was a real thrill in first seeing cool bands grouped together by tour, then checking the date and venue info and immediately making mental plans to absolutely not miss that show when it pulled into our area. We had that same feeling last night (May 9), when we saw The Cult are touring this summer, and bringing Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Zola Jesus along for the ride.
That’s one inspired tour package, and should make for one motherfucker of a show.
As detailed below, The Cult’s “We Own The Night” tour kicks off July 8 in St. Paul, Minnesota, and wraps July 27 in Detroit, Michigan. And included in that 13-show run is the date that got us all worked up: A July 23 appearance at Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston’s Seaport District, which should be a fun Saturday night on the water.
Tickets for all the shows go on sale this Friday (May 13) at 10 a.m. local time. Get into it.
