As proven time and time again, Van Buren Records may be Bad For Press, but they sure are good for everything else. The Brockton hip-hop crew celebrate the one-year anniversary of their breakthrough album with a show tonight (April 15) at The Paradise Rock Club, returning to the room after throwing down the release party on Commonwealth Avenue back in September for the thundering EP BLACK WALL STREET.
It’s only fitting Bad For Press gets the same high-stage shine. Call it a release party, call it an anniversary party, call it anything that increases the bright lights of the marquee, but in the end it’s really another showcase for Boston hip-hop on one of the city’s most celebrated stages. And as usual, Van Buren are ready to deliver.
This show means everything,” Ricky Felix tells Vanyaland. “From the people attending to the 1 year of our first project, it’s a special moment knowing the work we put in is being loved and respected by our supporters.” Luke Bar$ shares a similar sentiment, adding: “With all the momentum that’s going on for us right now it just feels like we have to go even harder. Take this opportunity to push this culture forward.”
Tonight’s stop, The Paradise. Next month’s stop, Boston Calling. NMaybe the two-year party will be at the Garden. Show up, rise up.
