Fun fact: None of us were listening to Wet Leg on this day one year ago. And there’s a good reason why: The English guitar-pop duo of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers released debut single “Chaise Longue” in June of last year, and from there, it was off to the proverbial races. In the past few months Wet Leg have become pretty much everyone’s new favorite band, opening for IDLES and CHVRCHES, dropping one banger single after another, crashing the late-night TV circuit, and showing up on virtually every indie-flavored Best of 2021 list in existence (including ours, yeah c’mon). Now their self-titled debut album is out in a just over a month (April 8 via Domino), and they’re giving our fair city a deep taste as the duo’s North American tour hits The Paradise Rock Club tonight (March 7). We gave everyone a heads up on this gig last week, when we hyped Wet Leg’s new single and video for “Angelica”, but here’s a plug that celebrates their entire (growing) catalog. get off that chaise longue and head to Commonwealth Avenue on a Monday night. What else is there to do?
