Editor’s Note: Even in the last gasps of winter, there is never a shortage of comedy shows to check out around Boston, as homegrown talent, national headliners, and open mics galore highlight the calendar. As live entertainment slowly makes its way back into our social lives — mask up! stay safe! — we always want to make sure you know about cool stuff going on in the world of comedy. Enter Mic’d Up, our ongoing weekly series that details the best live comedy shows to consider as you head out and about. Below find our rundown for this week, through Sunday (March 13).

Eugene Mirman & Friends at The Rockwell

Every time Eugene Mirman takes the stage around town, you never what will happen, and it’s always a delight to see his true comedic genius unfold in real time. Bringing along a slew of his stand-up pals for a night of wide-ranging comedy, the Bob’s Burgers actor is primed for yet another successful night — which may or may not be emphasized by the “sold out” price tag that’s attached.

Tom Papa at Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center

A nice little day trip to the far corner of the commonwealth can be taxing, for sure. But with Tom Papas on the other end of the journey, the miles are worth it. Catch the bread-baking comedy veteran in action as he delves into the intricate details of life, fatherhood and the insanity he witnesses around him with upbeat, expert precision and elegantly forged comedic force.

Jay Mohr at Laugh Boston

As one of the most consistent comics of our time, Jay Mohr can still bring the heat when it comes to keeping it open and honest with his audience. His return to the Seaport can only carry with it a new slate of Mohr’s precise observational execution and top-tier storytelling. A long-lasting modern titan of the craft is not to be missed.

Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12 :: 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. both nights :: Laugh Boston, 425 Summer St. in Boston :: Tickets are $29
