We’ve been eagerly awaiting news of just when, exactly, new live music venue Roadrunner will open, and just who, exactly, will be the first to grace its Brighton stage. And hey — now we know.

It was revealed on Thursday (February 24) that Billy Strings, the Grammy-winning winning guitarist and bluegrass musician, will kick off Roadrunner’s operations on March 15. It’ll be the first-ever live performance at Bowery Boston’s newest venue, located at 89 Guest St. at Boston Landing, adjacent to The TRACK at New Balance. Tickets go on sale Friday (February 25) at 10 a.m. EST.

Roadrunner joins Bowery’s family of venues, which already includes Royale in Boston and The Sinclair in Cambridge. The new club — which borrows its name from a Modern Lovers tune about Massachusetts — will be “New England’s largest general admission indoor music venue,” according to Bowery, at 50,000-square feet, and boast a capacity of 3,500 people.

After Strings throws it down and jumpstarts the club, a series of high-profile shows fill the early calendar. Khruangbin play two nights (March 17 and 18), Dropkick Murphys bring their St. Patrick’s Day tour over on March 20, and Mitski fills the room March 21 and 22. From there the slate includes Bleachers (March 24 and 25), Chelsea Cutler (March 26 and 27), and Jojo (March 29).

Other notable shows within Roadrunner’s first few weeks include Brian Jonestown Massacre (April 1), LCD Soundsystem’s four-night residency (April 3 to 6), Big Thief (April 13), Cousin Stizz (April 22), Olivia Rodrigo (May 3), and Interpol (May 11).

There’s plenty more, so get check out all the listed shows and ticket info here.
