Frank Turner is coming back to town. Every town.
The man, the myth, the machine has unveiled his latest tour, and it’s the type of thing you’d expect from an artist who is finally able to perform live after two years of not being able to. Turner this week has unveiled his 50 States in 50 Days tour, a North American run with The Sleeping Souls that is exactly what it sounds like, all in support of his new album, this month’s FTHC.
Don’t worry, the folk-punk troubadour has a few days off on the itinerary, doubling up in a few places where the venues are within a day’s striking distance, and peppering in some acoustic matinee performances, but overall its an awe-inspiring display. It kicks off June 13 at Aura in Manchester, New Hampshire, the start of six straight New England shows that wrap June 17 at Boston’s Roadrunner. After a marathon run across the country, the tour closes August 1 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
“I’ve been unable to tour properly for a couple of years now, and always said that when I could get back to it I’d do it properly,” Turner says. “So here we are folks — every single US state! I can’t wait to bring FTHC to my American friends.”
Tickets go on-sale this Friday (February 25) at 10 a.m. local time, and the list of openers include The Bronx and Pet Needs on all regular band gigs, plus The Bouncing Souls, AJJ, Avail, Face to Face, and Amigo the Devil joining in along the way. Check out FTHC below, and feast those eyes on Turner’s grand plan.
