The song and visual follow up the Boston rapper’s momentous 2021, which saw the release of The Diamond Child and Big G Band$ via Roxbury’s Shooterz Muzik.
“Baby, let’s get this right /I came here to fuck / I ain’t come here to fight,” $hayBand$ raps in the first verse, immediately setting the lusty tone in her no-nonsense banger. While the video’s release coincides with Valentine’s Day, “Roses” is the kind of tune that doesn’t need a holiday to be relevant — it’s just sexy, full stop. Keep the corny conversation hearts out of this.
“You know I’m the coldest,” $hayBand$ repeats throughout the tune, emphasizing her icy disposition. But considering the steam coming off these bars, “Roses” is actually red-hot.
